DIGITAL MAMMOGRAPHY

We understand that pain and discomfort are the top reasons why women skip their mammogram. That is why we have partnered with Siemens Healthineers to offer the first mammogram system with 3D breast tomosynthesis in the DFW area.

3D Mammography

3D Mammography is an FDA-approved advanced technology that takes multiple Images of breast tissue to create a 3-dimensional picture of the breast. You may also hear it called breast tomosynthesis. It is different from traditional mammography in that traditional mammography obtains just a single image. The multiple images of breast tissue slices give doctors a clearer image of breast masses and make it easier to detect breast cancer.

Screening Mammogram

Screening mammograms are routinely used to detect breast changes in women who have no apparent symptoms of observable breast abnormalities. American Cancer Society and American College of Radiology recommend annual screening mammograms begin at age 40. The goal is to detect cancer before clinical signs appear.

Diagnostic Mammogram

Diagnostic mammograms are used after questionable results on a screening mammogram or after signs of breast abnormalities alert the physician to check the tissue. Such signs may include a lump, breast pain, nipple discharge, thickening of skin on the breast, or changes in the size or shape of the breast. A diagnostic mammogram will provide more detailed information and can help determine if these symptoms are indicative of the presence of cancer.

BREAST ULTRASOUND

Breast ultrasound uses sound waves and their echoes to make computer picture of the inside of the breast. A breast ultrasound should not replace a mammogram, but it can be helpful in determining certain breast changes, like fluid-filled cysts, that can be harder to see on mammograms.

BREAST BIOPSY

A breast biopsy is a quick, accurate, and minimally invasive procedure that evaluates a suspicious area in the breast to determine if it is cancer. A small sample of breast tissue is removed for laboratory testing to identify and diagnose abnormalities in the cells. Results will show whether additional surgery or treatment is needed.

Breast Stereotactic Biopsy

Stereotactic breast biopsy is a minimally invasive and precise procedure using specialized mammography machines to help radiologists pinpoint any suspicious areas. These machines provide x-rays from two different angles. The two sets of images guide the radiologist to the area of concern as they remove tissue samples. A doctor may recommend this type of biopsy if a mammogram or other exam finds small deposits of calcium that could be signs of cancer, abnormal changes in breast tissues, a suspicious lump, changes in an area where surgery has taken place, or irregularities in breast structure.

Breast Ultrasound Biopsy

Breast Ultrasound Biopsy is a minimally invasive procedure that is a form of biopsy that uses ultrasound to help your radiologist locate an abnormality and guide a core-sampling needle to the area to remove a small amount of tissue. This tissue is then sent to a lab for analysis.

Breast MRI Biopsy

An MRI breast biopsy uses magnetic resonance imaging to evaluate breast tissue. It uses a powerful magnetic field, radio waves and a computer to help locate a breast lump abnormality and guide a needle to remove a tissue sample for examination under a microscope. It does not use ionizing radiation and leaves little to no scarring.

CYST ASPIRATION

A simple procedure performed to drain a symptomatic cyst within the breast tissue. Most cysts are benign (non-cancerous), though some are quite tender. Aspirating the fluid from a cyst may alleviate symptoms of discomfort.

BREAST MRI

A breast MRI is an imaging test that helps determine if a lump in the breast is malignant or benign. It uses radio waves and strong magnets to make detailed pictures of the inside of the breast. It may show problems that cannot be seen by mammogram, ultrasound, or CT scan. The picture shows your breast’s structure, and identifies tissue damage or disease , inflammation, or a lump.

BONE DENSITY

A bone density scan is a safe and non-invasive screening that is commonly used to diagnose osteoporosis and bone loss. The test uses x-rays to measure how many grams of calcium and other bone minerals are packed into a segment of bone. Results of this exam can help your physician create an Osteoporosis treatment plan.

GENERAL AND OB/GYN ULTRASOUND

At CCI Diagnostic Center for Women, you and your baby’s health comes first. We offer obstetric ultrasounds for routine, as well as high-risk pregnancies

GENETIC TESTING

Both men and women benefit from learning if they have breast cancer risk. Results of genetic testing can help determine if someone has a higher risk of developing different types of cancer, including breast, ovarian, colorectal, uterine, pancreatic, prostate, stomach and melanoma, among others. Your personalized breast cancer risk assessment is now available at Clear Choice Imaging.
